Our Education team answers all the common questions around pensions, benefits, engagement and wellbeing.
Education workforces are changing. From pensions to mental health to career paths, employee needs are evolving, and employers need to evolve too. Where it was once accepted that educational institutes could concentrate all their efforts on teaching – you now have to think and act like a business as well.
Like all commercial concerns, you depend as much on the welfare and health of your employees for your success, as you do for the quality of the service you deliver. Demands for increased efficiency and greater financial accountability are likely contributors to the levels of illness and stress related absenteeism currently being reported.
From attracting and retaining talent to improving benefits packages and wellbeing — all while balancing cost considerations — we have the insights and experience to help get you through it.
Our specialist MMB Education experts focus on employee benefits for the education sector. For more than 30 years, we have been developing tailor-made solutions specifically for the education sector. Our solutions cover:
The pension you provide your people is the cornerstone of the benefit package you provide them. A well run scheme can make the difference between your people achieving the retirement lifestyle they want, when they want it and having to work longer and still not achieving their retirement goals. We will help you navigate a challenging pensions environment and achieve better outcomes for you and your people.
Salary exchange, also known as salary sacrifice, is an option to exchange salary for an equal increased employer pension contribution, which generates savings in National Insurance (NI) contributions for the employees and the organisation.
Make sure you are taking advantage of the most efficient way to make pension contributions. Our team have over 30 years’ experience of introducing salary exchange schemes and can provide practical help and financial education for your employees. Salary exchange can be used to enhance existing Defined Contribution (DC) plans and to increase the budget for DC plans being introduced to replace a Defined Benefit scheme, for example the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) or the Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS).
Having financial protection can ease your employees’ worries and let them focus on the job at hand. We can lend a helping hand with life assurance, income protection, sick pay insurance and critical illness cover to instil confidence in your people that they are taken care of should unexpected events occur that affect their ability to work.
We focus on promoting healthier lifestyles in your workforce through helping you design the package tailored to your employees’ needs. This includes private medical insurance, health cash plans, health screenings and dental insurance policies and also includes additional benefits to suit the specific requirements of your people. Additional benefits include access to virtual GPs, occupational health service and the EAP. We can help you manage employee benefits with ease, increase employee engagement and empower a culture of being well, together.
