Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB), the international employee benefits business of Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC), announced today that it is regrouping its UK health and benefits teams under the MMB brand and is making a series of new UK leadership appointments from Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc (JLT), Jelf, Mercer and Thomsons Online Benefits. The JLT appointments will become effective upon the closing of the transaction between Marsh & McLennan Companies and JLT, which remains subject to the receipt of certain antitrust and financial regulatory approvals.

Our clients will benefit from a more integrated, consistent and collaborative approach, as we offer a full suite of solutions in the employee health and benefits space.” 

The appointments span across the Mercer Marsh Benefits business, with Chris Bailey named Large Corporate Segment Leader, responsible for leading the combined corporate consulting business and strengthening the joint proposition for large clients. As UK Mid-Market Segment Leader, David Dodd will be responsible for delivering growth across the mid-market sector and developing MMB’s consulting and technology proposition for UK clients. Rachel Riley, from JLT, will become Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Segment Leader across the UK MMB business, focused on strengthening the combined proposition in this critical market.

Gemma Godfrey, the founder of Moola (acquired by JLT in 2018), will remain its Chief Executive. From Jelf, Alan Millward will become MMB UK Corporate Benefits Leader and Doug Rice will become International Leader. Dr Wolfgang Seidl, Mercer Workplace Solutions Leader, will lead workplace health consulting for the combined business.

Simon Griffiths will take on the role as Market Development Leader for MMB in the UK. Nick McClelland, Leader of the JLT Benefit Consulting Commercial & Proposition teams, will become the UK MMB Commercial Leader.
