Actuarial Post has announced that Greg Lugisani, Chief Health and Life Actuary at Mercer UK, has been named Life Actuary of the year at their annual awards. The awards celebrate and reward the talent and achievements of individuals in the actuarial arena. Mr. Lugisani was shortlisted alongside four industry peers and voted the ultimate winner by the readers of Actuarial Post.
Mr. Lugisani started his career in insurance in South Africa and moved into a corporate finance role at the Standard Bank Group. He qualified as an actuary in 2005 and has held numerous roles across various industries. He joined Mercer Marsh Benefits in 2016 where he heads up the actuarial and data analytics team in the Health and Life business within Mercer Marsh Benefits. Mr. Lugisani works with large corporate clients on a range of non-traditional health and life insurance projects. The majority involve analysing health and life insurance data and helping clients understand the financial risks and consequences of decisions they make.
“I am delighted to have been named Life Actuary of the year, said Mr. Lugisani. “I share this with my team here at Mercer, together we use a wealth of insurance data in smart ways to help clients address issues that may otherwise be overlooked.”
