The challenges of the last few years have led to numerous corporate reviews and changes in people strategies. Many companies are hiring new directors – both executive directors and non-executive directors – and are facing challenges in determining appropriate rewards, the governance involved and how to tell their stories to shareholders.

On Wednesday, 15th September 2021 Peter Boreham, UK & European Executive Reward Leader chaired a Mercer | Kepler a discussion led by our team, Amanda Flint, Bella Huang, Ming-Lai Wong and Rich Latham. In this webinar, we provided guidance on the reward, governance and positioning aspects of hiring a new director.

The Mercer team were joined by guest speaker Harriet Kemp. Harriet has 20+ years’ in-house experience of shaping the People and Reward strategies of complex multi-national and domestic organisations across a wide variety of sectors. She has led the Group Reward Functions in Dixons Carphone, Compass, Lloyds Banking Group and Novartis AG and continues to work as an adviser to several FTSE-listed companies. She chairs the Remuneration Committee of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and sits on the School Teachers' Pay Review Body.
